“ An intimate restaurant with a view of the Covered Bridge and close to shops, Scrag and Roe provided our party with a surprising mid-day treat. A varied menu with a unique combination of flavors that were complex, earthy, and light. Hard to pick a favorite as the sharing of plates made the lunch feel like a party. All were amazing. The service was excellent as well. Definitely give this restaurant a try. ”
“ Great menu with lots of great pan-Asian dishes. I especially loved the pork buns, but everything I tasted was delicious. Service was super friendly and attentive. My whole group was really happy with our meals and the whole experience. I'll absolutely be back next time I'm in the area! ”
“ This is our favorite restaurant in the Mad River Valley. The tuna was cooked to perfection and the sauce was delicate and delicious. The prawns created a flavor explosion in my mouth! The creative drink menu was a special treat as well. ”
“ Beautiful location on the river near the covered bridge. The food knocked my socks off! The best restaurant I’ve experienced in a long time. The tuna tataki (seared tuna) was perfect. The flavors in the grilled flank steak with Thai salad took me back to Thailand! We also loved the rich flavors of the coconut chicken curry. Plenty of gluten free options! Thank you Nate for a delicious meal and thank you Jack for taking care of us! We will be back many more times. ”
“ Never expected to have such delicious and authentic Chinese dishes in such a small town. The innovation and fusion absolutely make them even better without losing the authenticity. I would say it's even better than most Chinese resturants in big cities, at leasts than all in Pittsburgh. Love the smashed cucumber, dry fried shiitake, grilled prawns, dan dan noodles and Su Dong's pork. Amazing owner and great service as well. Recommended 10/10 ”
“ We visit the Mad River Valley as much as we can (and love the local restaurants up here) but this was the first time at Scrag and Roe and WOW. We are so grateful it was recommended to us. We had a seat by the window overlooking the river. We were a little early for our reservation but the host was so friendly and sat us as soon as he could. The food was excellent - very unique for the area especially. It all tasted so fresh and delicious. Our waitress was awesome - very attentive and engaging. I love how they serve everything in a way that encourages guests to share (I love being able to eat more than one thing on the menu :) We will definitely be passing on the recommendation and coming back for our next date night when we’re back to visit! ”
“ Beautiful location in a quaint historic building with covered bridge and river views. The staff was engaging, attentive, and passionate about the food. The food was excellent. Authentic asian cuisine with American flair. Our server, Taylor, brought humor and insight to our experience which was much appreciated. We will be recommending this establishment to all our friends! ”
“ We had a great dinner with 5 adults. Our waiter was knowledgable and the service was great. We ordered the whole menu and the food was innovative, original, and delicious. Every dish was a compliment to and also a stand out with the rest of the menu. The craft cocktails were fun and tasty. Highly recommend! ”
